OUR DREAM, OUR STORY...

Ol’ Tyme Good Humor Ice Cream came to life in July 2012 as an idea to re-live our youth!  Sue grew up in Chicago and remembers running into the house every Thursday night after dinner asking her parents for money as soon as she heard those Good Humor bells ringing!

Wally, the Good Humor Man, would drive slowly down the street waiting for the crowd of kids to gather.  We would wait patiently in line for our turn as Wally asked each of us what we wanted today (as if it was a surprise).  He was always smiling as we counted out our pennies, nickels, and dimes, hoping we had enough money.

Our hope is to share those fun memories of growing up when life was a lot simpler than it is today.  No cell phones, computers, navigation systems, just driving around listening to the static in the AM Radio.  It is amazing how many adults stop us at gas stations, in the park, or during charity events and tell us their story of “Wally and the Good Humor Ice Cream truck”.

Our mission with our Good Humor Truck is not only to re-live our youth, but to be able to give back to those in need.  Many of our events are held for a charity where a portion of the proceeds are given directly to the charity at hand.  We have been involved with charities such as American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Susan G. Komen’s Race for a CureFord Motor Company JDRF, etc.

We also attend events such as:

  • Car shows/cruises – Woodward Dream Cruise, Mustang Memories, etc.
  • Community events – parades, festivals, music in the park, etc.
  • Golf outings
  • Birthday events
  • Corporate sponsorships and parties
